As we look forward to 2023, many of us will be contemplating possible travel plans for this year. The Missions Committee has a wonderful opportunity for those of you who might like to join us on our first short-term work trip to the community of Caq-lximche, (Caw-key-shim-shay), Guatemala, from June 24th to July 1st.
This will be hosted by Food for the Hungry, the same Christian organization Northminster partnered with in the Dominican Republic. Caq-lxmiche is located in a poverty-stricken, rural setting among scenic mountains in the north central region of Guatemala. The majority of the homes are built with wooden walls, tin roof,s and mud floors.
Only 60% of the facilities have access to piped water and 20% have no electricity. Activities will mainly include a work project, vacation Bible school, home visits, and a special sense of community. Many of us that have participated in past global mission trips will readily tell you what a life-changing experience it was.
So, if you think you would like to share in this special way of serving the Lord, please prayerfully consider and attend one of the two informational meetings scheduled for Sunday, January 15th at 10:15 between services in Disciplines Hall and Monday, January 16th at 7:00pm in Room 5.
If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact Candy Jordan, 513 675-6237 or cjorda44@gmail.com. *Scholarships are available.
