Northminster's Guatemala Mission Trip 2023! 🌍

This summer we took a team of 12, including some seasoned mission veterans and eight first-timers, like Katie Dashley and Katie Addison.
Northminster’s Mission Committee chair, Harry Stone highlighted our long-term partnership with Food for the Hungry. We're committed to helping this community develop over 5 to 10 years, with their guidance on identifying key needs and projects.
This year, our focus was clean water, something we often take for granted. Lou Kellett shared how we learned to install water filters and provided 50 filters that'll ensure clean water for a decade, tackling a major malnutrition issue.
We didn't stop there. We visited sponsored children and families in need, witnessed their living conditions, and took steps to support them. Our sustainable raised gardens initiative is already making a difference, providing nutritious food throughout the year.
Our Vacation Bible School was a highlight, where we shared Christ's love and had a blast with the kids. We even gave out toothbrushes and taught them how to brush their teeth, addressing a critical health concern.
To those considering a foreign mission trip: do it! It might push you out of your comfort zone, but the impact and blessings you'll experience are beyond imagination.
